Responsibilities

• Prepares the operating room by setting up sterile field and surgical equipment
• Passes instruments, fluids and supplies to the surgeon during surgery
• Maintains sterile environment and assists with equipment and specimen handling
• Performs initial instrument, sharps and sponge counts with the circulator
• Turns over rooms between cases and assists with gowning and gloving as needed
