Tennova Healthcare- North Knoxville Medical Center is seeking a Certified Surgical Technician to support the operating room team. You will prepare the sterile field, anticipate needs, and ensure proper handling of instruments while maintaining sterile technique and infection control practices.

The role involves assisting with patient positioning, instrument passing, and room turnover to optimize OR efficiency. CST certification and BLS are required, with 0–2 years OR experience preferred.

Aufgaben

• Prepare operating room and set up instruments and supplies according to procedure and physician card.
• Maintain sterile field and asepsis throughout the procedure.
• Anticipate surgeon needs and pass instruments accurately during surgery.
• Handle instruments and equipment per policy, including inspection and sterilization.
• Assist with counts of sponges, needles, and instruments with the circulating nurse.
• Assist with patient positioning, draping, and transfer under RN direction.
• Maintain physician preference cards and procedural documentation.
• Restock supplies and prep rooms for next cases for OR efficiency.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain consistent attendance and compliance with policies.
