Job summary

Norman Regional Health System is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the operating rooms in Oklahoma. The role involves circulating in general, colorectal, breast and plastic surgery reconstruction, urology, robotics and neurosurgery as part of a physician-led, professionally managed team.

You will work Day shifts, 3 six- to twelve-hour cycles, and be part of a Regular Full Time position. Requires accredited program completion and BLS; CST/OK licensure considerations apply.

Qualifications

• Completion of accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• National certification in surgical technology.
• Five consecutive years training/experience as a surgical tech, or one year as LPN with surgical tech preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; CST certification preferred if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provides for a sterile environment.
• Prepares for procedure.
• Assists the physician to promote optimal patient outcomes.
• Provides and maintains a safe environment for the patient and staff.
• Responsible for personal continuing education and professional practice.

• Evening differential $2.00/hr.
• Night differential $2.50/hr.
• Weekend differential $2.50/hr.

We have 10 brand new, state of the art, operating rooms for general surgery, colorectal, breast and plastic surgery reconstruction, urology, robotics, and neurosurgery cases located in the ACC at Norman Regional Hospital. Our nurses demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, autonomy, and critical thinking skills while caring for a wide range of patient types. We orient new nurses to each of our surgical areas, spending time with dedicated preceptors in each area. Upon completion of orientation, nurses will be able to circulate general surgery, colorectal, breast and plastic surgery reconstruction, urology, robotics, and neurosurgery cases as well as a wide variety of other service lines. Experience

• Must have completed accredited Surgical Technology program, or must have five (5) consecutive years training/experience as a surgical tech or LPN with one (1) year surgical tech preferred.
• National Certification is highly preferred.

Licensure / Certification

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained for duration of employment.
• If Certified Surgical Technologist must have current certification.
• Currently Oklahoma LPN license required if applicable.
