Job summary

Geisinger is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to assist surgeons during procedures and support the surgical team in a fast-paced operating room. You will maintain aseptic technique, handle instruments, and help with patient preparation and transfer.

Required CST certification (with PA Act 80 exceptions as applicable) and completion of specialty surgical technology training. Opportunities include on-call rotations and participation in admission and discharge processes.

Qualifications

• Current CST certification is required unless exempt under PA Act 80.
• Graduate from specialty training program in surgical technology.
• NBSTSA certification preferred or required as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assists surgeon with procedures and coordinates treatments with other disciplines.
• Provides basic patient assistance and connects patients to clinical equipment.
• Maintains aseptic technique and prepares surgical supplies and instruments.
• Verifies surgical counts and labels specimens obtained during procedures.
• Participates in admission, discharge, and on-call rotations for the OR.
