Job summary

Inova Fairfax Hospital's Operating Room is seeking a dedicated Surgical Technologist 3 to join our team on a full-time daytime schedule. This role offers a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance, with opportunities for career advancement within a nationally recognized health system in Northern Virginia.

You will support perioperative teams by maintaining sterile technique, anticipating instrument needs, and contributing to patient safety and efficient surgical workflows in a fast-paced hospital

Qualifications

• Education: High School or GED.
• Experience: Two (2) years’ Surgical Technologist experience.
• Licensure: Registered Surgical Technologist in the state of VA.
• Certification: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery – Certified (TS-C) with BLS.
• Experience: Level one trauma experience.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates advanced knowledge and practice in the role of the first scrub.
• Demonstrates advanced knowledge of anatomy and can anticipate instrumentation.
• Expedites the operative procedure by anticipating the needs of the surgeon.
• Demonstrates advanced knowledge of aseptic and surgical techniques.
• Preceptor role for new and experienced staff.
• Assists in evaluating new products and equipment.

Surgical Technologist 2 Job Responsibilities

• Demonstrates advanced knowledge and practice in the role of the first scrub.
• Demonstrates advanced knowledge of anatomy and can anticipate the required instrumentation for each step of a surgical procedure.
• Expedites the operative procedure by anticipating the needs of the surgeon.
• Demonstrates advanced knowledge of aseptic and surgical techniques.
• Performs in preceptor role for new & experienced staff in the scrub role.
• Provides working knowledge of powered instrumentation, video equipment, microscopes, and complex instrumentation, equipment. Assists in the evaluation of new products and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: High School or GED
• Experience: One (1) year Surgical Technologist experience.
• Licensure: Registered Surgical Technologist in the state of VA.
• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) upon start.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience: Level one (1) trauma experience.
