Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University Health seeks a Surgical Technologist to set up sterile fields, gather supplies and assist in the operating room under RN supervision. The role involves passing instruments and performing surgical counts as required.

Candidates with CST/TS-C/CORST or those who will achieve certification within 24 months are preferred. The position includes a $10,000 sign-on bonus for offers accepted by August 31, 2026.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology Program or military training.
• RN interns only option also listed; CST/TS-C/CORST preferred; must achieve CST/TS-C/CORST within 24 months.
• 0–2 years experience as a surgical technologist required; acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sets up sterile field and gathers supplies for surgical cases.
• May pass instruments to surgeons during procedures.
• Performs count procedures per policy during cases under RN supervision.
• Works three shifts, includes weekends and holidays; may be required to take call after probation.
