Job summary

Sioux Falls Specialty Hospital is seeking a full-time Surgical Technologist or Certified Surgical Technologist to assist in executing surgeries efficiently. You will supply, set up surgical stations per provider preferences, and uphold aseptic technique and infection control policies.

You will conduct counts, assist with instruments during procedures, and help manage medications while maintaining safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist Program required.
• CST certification required; can be obtained within one year of employment.
• BLS certification required; can be obtained upon hire.
• Surgical technologist experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and stock surgical supplies and instruments.
• Set up sterile surgical stations per provider preferences and aseptic technique guidelines.
• Follow infection control policies and procedures and conduct surgical counts for inventory accuracy.
• Assist surgeons with equipment and instrumentation during procedures.
• Manage medications and adhere to safety protocols during surgeries.
• Document preparation of instruments for sterilization and ensure room turnover.
• Contribute to the efficient OR schedule and maintain good team communication.

Job description

We are seeking a full-time Surgical Technologist or Certified Surgical Technologist to assist in ensuring the smooth execution of surgeries. Our Surgical Technologists provide essential supplies, meticulously set up surgical stations according to provider preferences, and aseptic technique guidelines, and adhere to infection control policies and procedures. They conduct surgical counts to maintain inventory accuracy and provide crucial assistance to surgeons with equipment and instrumentation during procedures. Additionally, they manage medications, adhere to safety protocols, collaborate seamlessly with the surgical team to maintain an efficient schedule, and ensure proper documentation and preparation of instruments for sterilization. Successful Surgical Technologists excel in interpersonal connections with their team, demonstrate effective communication skills, and strive for service excellence. They also contribute to room turnover, terminal cleaning, stocking, and preparing OR rooms for subsequent procedures.

Flexible daytime schedules working Monday - Friday, include:

• Five 8-hour shifts
• Four 10-hour shifts
• Three 12-hour shifts
• NO WEEKENDS. NO ON-CALL. NO HOLIDAYS.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist Program required.
• CST certification required; can be obtained within one year of employment.
• BLS certification required; can be obtained upon hire.
• Surgical technologist experience is preferred but not required. New graduates encouraged to apply!
