Job summary

Henry Ford Providence Hospital – Novi is seeking a qualified surgical technologist to support the operating room team. You will prepare sterile and non-sterile instruments, hand tools to surgeons, assist with patient positioning, and maintain instrument counts to ensure safety.

This full-time role, 7:00am–3:30pm rotating shift, requires weekend and holiday coverage. A high school diploma with experience or an associate/technical degree is expected; BLS is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience.
• OR Associate's degree/Technical degree
• OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• BLS Provider preferred; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Associate's degree in Surgical Technology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.
• Prepares surgical operating suite with sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
• Hands required and requested instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery.
• Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
• Maintains instruments in an organized manner and monitors and tracks instruments counts throughout procedures.
• Assists surgeons provision of hemostasis during surgery.
