Job summary

A prominent healthcare organization in Novi is seeking a Surgical Tech to assist in the safe performance of surgical procedures. Responsibilities include preparing the operating room, handing instruments to the surgeon, and ensuring patient safety. Candidates should have a High School diploma with relevant experience or an Associate's degree, and certification as a BLS Provider is preferred. This position requires day shifts including holidays and weekends, with a sign-on bonus available.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Surgical Technology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates efficient performance of surgical procedures.
• Prepares surgical operating suite with instruments and supplies.
• Hands instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery.
• Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
• Maintains instruments in an organized manner and monitors and tracks instrument counts throughout procedures.
• Assists surgeons with hemostasis during surgery.

Requirements

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience, or Associate's degree/Technical degree, or 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• BLS Provider preferred (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted).
• Associate's degree in Surgical Technology preferred.
