Job summary

Henry Ford Providence Hospital - Novi is seeking a Surgical Technician to facilitate safe and efficient surgical procedures and prepare the operating suite with instruments and supplies.

You will hand instruments to surgeons, assist with patient positioning, and maintain instrument counts across procedures. This full-time role operates on a rotating schedule with weekends and holidays, offering a $7,500 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience.
• Associate's degree/Technical degree or 4 years of applicable cumulative experience.
• BLS Provider preferred (AHA or ARC accepted).
• Associate's degree in Surgical Technology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.
• Prepares surgical operating suite with sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
• Hands required instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery.
• Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
• Maintains instruments in an organized manner and tracks counts during procedures.
• Assists with hemostasis during surgery.

Education

4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience

BLS Provider preferred

Associate's degree in Surgical Technology preferred

Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY:

• Prepares surgical operating suite with sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
• Hands required and requested instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery.
• Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
• Maintains instruments in an organized manner and monitors and tracks instruments counts throughout procedures.
• Assists surgeons provision of hemostasis during surgery.

• 7:00am - 3:30pm
• Rotating Shift
• Holidays and weekends required
• $7,500 Sign on bonus

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience
  • OR Associate's degree/Technical degree
  • OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• BLS Provider preferred
  • American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Associate's degree in Surgical Technology preferred.

Additional Information

Full Time 40 hours per week, rotating shift, weekends and holidays required
