Job summary

Henry Ford Health in Grand Blanc is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support nursing staff and physicians in the operating room. The role emphasizes sterile technique, instrument setup, and patient safety across procedures in a collaborative surgical suite.

Qualifications

• Certified BLS provider required within 6 months of hire.
• Complete recognized scrub technician program or have 2+ years as Surgical Technician.
• One year as a Certified Surgical Technician preferred; NBSTSA credential is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with QA, safety, and infection control standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe operating environment.
• Assist in setting up operating rooms with instruments and supplies.
• Prepare and assist with procedures, including draping and retractors.
• Clean, decontaminate, and sterilize equipment and instruments.
• Transport patients and assist with pre-operative preparations.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications :

• Certified BLS Provider specializing in Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 6 months of hire or job transfer.
• Completion of a recognized scrub technician college program or minimum of two years ofexperience as a Surgical Technician, or one year as a Certified Surgical Technician.

Preferred Qualifications :

• Certified Surgical Assistant credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
