Job description

Job Title: Surgical Technologist

The Surgical Technologist is responsible for planning, preparing, and maintaining surgical instrumentation and the surgical field peri-operatively. This role also involves post-operative activities related to room and instrument decontamination. The position is part of the 1199SEIU Bargaining Unit at Cooley Dickinson Hospital and reports to the Nurse Manager, Operating Room. The role operates within established organizational and departmental policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Successful completion of a surgical technology program from an accredited school.
3. Certification in Surgical Technology required within 6 months of hire.
4. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
