Job Summary

Performs a variety of technical duties under the supervision of a licensed nurse. Assists surgeons during operative and invasive procedures. Ensures the operating suite is adequately prepared for procedures. Cleans surgical instruments and delivers them to sterile supply for processing. Sets up sterile tables for vaginal deliveries and delivers equipment to the room. Transports dirty equipment from deliveries and cleans equipment.

Qualifications

• Completion of 12th grade (high school) or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited surgical technologist program required.
• Certification by the Association of Surgical Technologists is preferred for surgical technologists.
• Current BCLS Certification.
