Job Description: Operating Room Technician

Perform a variety of tasks in an operating room to assist the surgical team. Responsibilities include:

1. Arranging sterile setups for surgical procedures.
2. Passing instruments, sponges, and sutures to surgeons and assistants.
3. Preparing sterile supplies and assisting in cleanup of the operating room.
4. Checking the placement and operation of equipment, and restocking the operating room as needed.
5. Handling special trays, graft materials, and recording patient data during surgeries.

Eligible candidates will be offered a sign-on bonus of up to $25,000 based on their years of experience.

Applicants will be placed in the appropriate job titles based on their experience and education.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Labeling medications and handing them to the surgeon according to policies.
• Preparing the operating room before surgery, including setting up instruments, equipment, and sterile solutions.
• Assisting during surgery by passing instruments, holding retractors, cutting sutures, and assisting with sponge and needle counts.
• Handling specimens for laboratory analysis and applying dressings.
• Assisting with putting on sterile gowns and gloves.
• Post-surgery, helping transfer patients to recovery and restocking the operating room.
• Preparing patients for surgery, including washing, shaving, and ensuring aseptic sites; assisting with patient positioning and draping.
• Maintaining a clean and safe environment, adhering to safety and aseptic techniques.
