Job description

Job Title: Surgical Technologist

Join the University of Kentucky as a Surgical Technologist and be part of a leading healthcare team. This role involves:

1. Passing surgical instruments in the operating room
2. Maintaining a sterile field and assisting with surgical case counts
3. Preparing supplies and instruments, checking for completeness and functionality
4. Setting up and breaking down the operating room independently or with assistance
5. Monitoring sterile technique and correcting breaches
6. Performing surgical counts as per policy

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Ability to scrub various surgical cases

Required Experience

No prior experience necessary

Licenses/Certifications

Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program, or LPN with extensive surgical technician experience, or certification by NBSTSA, or military training validated with appropriate documentation, or current UKHC Surgical Technician role (as of 09/17/2016)

Shift

10-hour shifts during days, evenings, or nights, including weekends, holidays, and on-call hours
