As a trusted member of the operating room team, your top priority as a Surgical Technologist is ensuring safe surgeries for every patient. You act as a watchdog in outpatient surgery, maintaining a sterile environment to protect patients from harm. Your responsibilities include preparation and anticipation, ensuring the necessary instrumentation and equipment are available when needed by the surgeon.

As a Surgical Tech, you assist by passing surgical instruments, positioning patients, or holding retractors as requested. You thrive under responsibility, focus on details, and organize efficiently. Your qualities—experience, knowledge, skills, empathy, and personality—are valuable assets to the team, and we look forward to learning what you bring to this crucial role.

Your Daily Responsibilities include:

1. Assisting the circulating nurse with patient positioning, operative site confirmation, specimen care, and room turnover.
2. Establishing and maintaining an organized sterile field.
3. Using proper sterilization methods for instruments prior to procedures.
4. Understanding asepsis principles and addressing unsafe practices or conditions.
5. Preparing the operating room with sterile supplies, instruments, and sutures.
6. Following policies for scrubbing, gowning, gloving, draping, and counting with the circulating nurse.
7. Performing as first scrub on basic surgical cases.
8. Anticipating needs and assisting the surgeon with tissue retraction, instrumentation, and suturing.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program
• Current BLS certification

Preferred Qualifications:

• Surgical Technologist certification
• Previous experience as a surgical technologist
