Job summary

Minimally Invasive Surgery Center of New England in Bedford, NH, is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the operating room team. You will set up instruments, maintain a sterile field, and assist with patient preparation for procedures, with a focus on spine, orthopedic and pain management cases.

This role requires 1–2 years of OR experience, CST and BLS certifications, and completion of a scrub tech program.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required and completion of a scrub technician program.
  • CST and BLS certifications required.
  • 1–2 years OR experience in multiple specialties, including Orthopedics.

Responsibilities

  • Set up instruments and equipment required for procedures.
  • Sterilize equipment and maintain inventory to ensure supplies for surgery.
  • Prepare the patient for surgery and assist with patient positioning.
  • Pass surgeon instruments and sterile supplies throughout the operation.
  • Count all surgical sponges and sharps before and after procedures.
  • Maintain an overall sterile environment throughout the surgery.
  • Stock rooms and assist with daily departmental tasks.

Our technology allows surgeons to perform procedures in the specialty areas of: Comprehensive Level of Spine, Orthopedic & Pain Management Cases.

Job Summary:

The Surgical Technician is responsible for ensuring proper care and use of surgical instruments. Anticipates the needs of the surgical team. Establishes and maintains sterile field during surgical procedures in the operating room.

May perform any of the following duties with the goal of preparing the room and the patient for the surgical procedure:

  • Setting up the instruments and equipment that is required for the procedure
  • Sterilizing equipment and taking an inventory to ensure there are enough supplies for surgery
  • Preparing the patient for surgery
  • Passing the Surgeon instruments and sterile supplies throughout the operation
  • Taking a count of all surgical sponges and sharps prior to the operation
  • Recounting surgical instruments and supplies at the end of the operation
  • Maintaining an overall sterile environment throughout the surgery
  • Stocking rooms, picking supplies for cases, assisting with departmental daily tasks.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma / GED; completion of a Scrub Technician Certification Program.
  • 1-2 years of operating room experience as a Scrub Tech in multiple specialties, including Ortho.
  • Responsible for daily sterile processing department functions
  • 1-2 years SPD experience required
  • CST & BLS Certification.
