Job summary

North Atlantic Surgical Suites in Salem, NH, is hiring a full-time Surgical Technologist to support sterile technique and instrument handling in the operating room. The center specializes in orthopedic knee/hip procedures and spinal surgery, offering a sign-on bonus up to $2,500.

Responsibilities include setting up instruments, sterilizing equipment, preparing patients, passing instruments, counts, and maintaining a sterile field throughout surgeries.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a Scrub Technician Certification Program.
• 1–2 years OR experience as a Scrub Tech, including Orthopedics.
• CST and BLS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Sterilize equipment and maintain inventory for surgeries.
• Prepare patients for surgery.
• Pass instruments and supplies to the surgeon during operations.
• Count sponges and sharps before and after procedures.

• Stock rooms and assist with daily departmental tasks.

Job Summary:

The Surgical Technician is responsible for ensuring proper care and use of surgical instruments. Anticipates the needs of the surgical team. Establishes and maintains sterile field during surgical procedures in the operating room.

May perform any of the following duties with the goal of preparing the room and the patient for the surgical procedure:

• Setting up the instruments and equipment that is required for the procedure
• Sterilizing equipment and taking an inventory to ensure there are enough supplies for surgery
• Preparing the patient for surgery
• Passing the Surgeon instruments and sterile supplies throughout the operation
• Taking a count of all surgical sponges and sharps prior to the operation
• Recounting surgical instruments and supplies at the end of the operation
• Maintaining an overall sterile environment throughout the surgery
• Stocking rooms, picking supplies for cases, assisting with departmental daily tasks.

No Weekends/No Major Holidays/No Call Required

Schedule: 10 hour shifts

Education and/or Experience:

• High School Diploma / GED; completion of a Scrub Technician Certification Program.
• 1-2 years of operating room experience as a Scrub Tech in multiple specialties, including Ortho.
• CST & BLS Certification.
