Job summary

Alaska Regional Hospital in Anchorage, AK, is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join our experienced operating room team. You will prepare the surgical suite, pass instruments, and support the surgeons during procedures.

You will work closely with a skilled team, maintain sterile technique, assist with patient transport and positioning, and help ensure safe, efficient surgeries. We offer comprehensive benefits, ongoing education, and opportunities for career growth within the HCA Healthcare

Qualifications

  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.
  • Surgical Technologist Certificate preferred (CST) or equivalent.
  • Completion of surgical technologist course or comparable experience.
  • One year operating room experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and maintain the surgical suite with instruments, supplies, and advanced equipment for safe procedures.
  • Assist with patient transport, positioning, prepping, and draping, prioritizing comfort and safety.
  • Scrub in and hand instruments, handle specimens, and anticipate the team's needs.
  • Monitor patients and equipment during procedures, responding promptly to concerns.
  • Uphold sterile technique, turnover rooms efficiently, and support a collaborative team.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Setting up and maintaining the surgical suite with instruments, supplies, and advanced equipment to ensure safe, seamless procedures
  • Assisting with patient transport, positioning, prepping, and draping while prioritizing comfort, privacy, and safety
  • Scrubbing in and partnering with the surgical team by providing instruments, handling specimens, and anticipating the team’s needs
  • Monitoring patients and surgical equipment throughout procedures, responding promptly and effectively to any concerns
  • Upholding sterile technique, completing room turnover efficiently, and supporting a high-performing, collaborative team environment
What qualifications you will need:
