Job summary

Havasu Regional Medical Center in Lake Havasu City, AZ is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join our operating room team. This full‑time, day shift role supports surgeons, nurses and anesthesia providers to facilitate safe, efficient procedures and optimal patient care.

You will prepare the OR, assist with instrumentation, maintain sterile technique, and participate in counts and turnover while upholding our culture of teamwork and safety.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program is required.
  • BLS certification within 30 days of hire and CST NBSTSA certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the operating room with instruments and supplies for procedures.
  • Prepare patients for surgery including positioning and site prepping.
  • Maintain sterile field and aseptic technique to prevent infection.
  • Anticipate surgeon needs and pass instruments during procedures.
  • Assist with retractors, sutures, specimen handling, and dressings.
  • Participate in counts, room turnover, and post-case cleanup.

How you'll contribute
A Surg Tech Who Excels In This Role
  • Prepare the operating room by setting up instruments, equipment, sterile solutions, and supplies before procedures.
  • Help prepare patients for surgery, including positioning and ensuring the surgical site is properly prepped.
  • Maintain a sterile field at all times and uphold the highest standards of aseptic technique to prevent infection.
  • Anticipate the surgeon's needs, passing instruments and supplies efficiently and safely throughout the procedure.
  • Assist with tasks such as holding retractors, cutting sutures, handling specimens, and applying dressings as directed.
  • Participate in pre‑and post‑procedure counts, room turnover, cleaning, and restocking to keep cases running smoothly.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a high school diploma and completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program. Minimum of 1-year Surg Tech experience is required.

Additional Requirements Include
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire & Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of Surg Tech experience required.
  • Preferred Experience: Total Joint procedures (hip, knee, and shoulder), Neuro Spine, robotic cases for General Surgery and OB, and cystoscopies.
