Job summary

Havasu Regional Medical Center in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, is seeking a Surgical Technician (Surg Tech) for General Surgery. You will support the operating room team, prepare instruments, maintain a sterile field, and assist surgeons, nurses, and anesthesia providers throughout procedures.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma and completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program, plus at least 1 year of Surg Tech experience.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma and accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Minimum 1 year Surg Tech experience.
• BLS within 30 days; CST from NBSTSA.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room by setting up instruments, equipment, sterile solutions and supplies.
• Assist with patient positioning and site prep for surgery.
• Maintain sterility and aseptic technique throughout procedures.
• Anticipate surgeon’s needs and pass instruments safely.
• Support counts, room turnover, and post‑procedure duties.

How you’ll contribute

A Surg Tech who excels in this role:

• Prepare the operating room by setting up instruments, equipment, sterile solutions, and supplies before procedures.
• Help prepare patients for surgery, including positioning and ensuring the surgical site is properly prepped.
• Maintain a sterile field at all times and uphold the highest standards of aseptic technique to prevent infection.
• Anticipate the surgeon’s needs, passing instruments and supplies efficiently and safely throughout the procedure.
• Assist with tasks such as holding retractors, cutting sutures, handling specimens, and applying dressings as directed.
• Participate in pre‑ and post‑procedure counts, room turnover, cleaning, and restocking to keep cases running smoothly.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a high school diploma and completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program. Minimum of 1-year Surg Tech experience is required.

Additional requirements include:

• Certifications:Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire & Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
• Education:High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Experience:Minimum of 1 year of Surg Tech experience required.
• Preferred Experience:Total Joint procedures (hip, knee, and shoulder), Neuro Spine, robotic cases for General Surgery and OB, and cystoscopies.
