Job summary

Salina Regional Health Center is seeking a Surgical Technician to prepare and maintain sterile fields, assist with draping, and hand instruments during procedures. The role supports nurses and physicians, monitors patient status, and helps with transport and routine care.

The position requires a high school diploma, on-the-job training, and BLS certification within 90 days; CST certification is preferred for advancement. Day shift with possible weekends and on-call duties.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent.
• Completion of an anatomy and physiology course preferred.
• On-the-job training.

Responsibilities

• Assemble supplies and equipment before and during procedures, maintaining sterile technique.
• Set up the sterile field and assist with draping the patient.
• Anticipate the surgeon's needs and hand sterile supplies and instruments to the surgeon and assistant.
• Assist nurses and inform the nurse of significant changes in patient condition.
• Take vital signs, transport patients, and assist with interventions as directed.
• Restock supplies and perform cleaning; interact with other departments under supervision.
