Job summary

South Baldwin Medical Group is seeking a Surgical Tech to collaborate with the surgeon and perioperative team to deliver high-quality patient care during surgical procedures. You will prepare and maintain sterile fields, assist with procedures, and ensure instruments and supplies are used appropriately, while adhering to infection prevention standards and facility policies.

PRN day and night shifts, with a focus on safety and teamwork to support optimal patient outcomes and smooth operating room

Qualifications

• Technical School graduate of Surgical Technology or Practical Nursing program
• Associate Degree in Surgical Technology or Applied Sciences
• 0-2 years of operating room surgical technician experience

Responsibilities

• Prepares and maintains operating room for surgical cases with aseptic technique.
• Assists surgical team by passing instruments and supplies accurately and efficiently.
• Handles instruments with proper sterilization, inspection and assembly.
• Performs sponge, needle and instrument counts with the circulating nurse.
• Assists in patient positioning, draping and transfer for procedures.
• Maintains physician preference cards and ensures supplies are available.
• Cleans, reprocesses and sterilizes instruments following protocols.
• Restocks supplies and prepares OR for subsequent cases.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
