Job summary

Qualifications

• Education: formal technologist school program.
• Experience: one year as Technologist preferred; hospital experience preferred.
• Certification: Current BLS by American Heart Association required; Surgical Technologist certification preferred; if uncertified, complete 15 hours CE yearly.
• Computer skills: proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, Word).

Responsibilities

• Maintain sterility of the surgical field.
• Anticipate surgeons' needs and pass instruments promptly.
• Assist with sponge, suction, retractors, electrocautery, irrigation, sutures, drains, and dressings.
• Prepare instrumentation and equipment for each case and care for them afterward.
• Support room turnover and deliver optimal service to the surgical team and patient.
