Island Health is hiring a Surgical Technician to support the Surgical Services Team in Anacortes, WA. You will assist the surgeon during procedures, ensure the operating room is prepped, and help with turnover and performance improvement activities.

The role requires a Surgical Technician Certificate, WA Surgical Technologist Registration, and a current BLS certificate, with at least 6 months of related training or experience.

Qualifications

• Surgical Technician Certificate from an accredited college or technical school.
• Minimum 6 months training, experience, or a combination of education and experience.
• Current Washington State Surgical Technologist Registration.
• Current Basic Life Support Certification.

Responsabilités

• Provides patient explanations and verbal reassurance as needed.
• Prepares exam room with instruments, supplies and equipment for each procedure.
• Assists in positioning, prepping and draping patients for surgical procedures.
• Anticipates surgeons' needs during intraoperative phase and assists with instruments.
• Maintains aseptic technique and accurate counts of instruments and supplies.
• Cleans and prepares rooms between procedures and restsocks supplies as needed.
