Job summary

Grande Ronde Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technician (Operating Room Technician) to provide essential support to surgeons and perioperative staff. You will prepare the OR, maintain sterile conditions, and deliver instruments and supplies to the surgical team.

The role requires CST certification and BLS within 3 months, with at least one year of experience preferred. The position is full-time, on-site, with a comprehensive benefits package and a pay range of $30.83 to $42.50 per hour, depending

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited surgical technology program or equivalent vocational/technical training required.
• Credential as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within three months of hire.
• At least one year of experience as a Surgical Technician preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the Operating Room (OR) by setting up surgical instruments, sterile drapes, equipment, and supplies per surgeon preferences.
• Maintain a sterile environment throughout procedures using aseptic technique.
• Assist in patient positioning, prepping, and draping for surgery, ensuring safety and comfort.
• Handle and pass instruments, sponges, sutures, and other sterile supplies during procedures.
• Track instruments and sharps before, during, and after surgery to ensure safety.
• Coordinate intraoperative workflow with surgeons and perioperative staff to optimize outcomes.
• Assist with post-operative room turnover, including cleaning and sterilizing instruments.
• Record supplies used and report instrument issues as per hospital policy.
• Participate in quality and performance improvement activities to enhance patient safety.
