Job summary

The Veterans Health Administration, Department of Veterans Affairs, Lebanon VA Medical Center in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, is seeking a Surgical Technician to join the operating room team. Responsibilities

• Functions as primary scrub person responsible for handling instruments, supplies and equipment during all surgical procedures.
• Sets up the sterile field with all required items for procedures.
• Assists in training residents, medical students, nursing students, OR technology students, and new OR staff in the operation of equipment and sterile technique.
• Maintains equipment and work areas and provides guidance to nursing assistants and other staff.
• Provides transportation of patients to and from the OR and ensures availability of correct prosthetics and inventory.
