Responsibilities

• Sets up sterile field with required items for each procedure and ensures supplies and equipment are available.
• Assists surgeon by preparing skin grafts, suctioning, holding retractors, applying skin staples, and cutting sutures; prepares prosthesis and devices.
• Assists in training residents, medical students, nursing students, and OR staff in sterile technique and surgical procedures.
• Functions as scrub and support personnel for complex surgical procedures and maintains aseptic technique throughout the procedure.
