Job summary

Ochsner Health in Marrero, LA is seeking an experienced Surgical Tech to ensure availability of equipment and supplies for endoscopy and procedures. You will scrub for surgeries and assist with endoscopy, under RN supervision, joining a team dedicated to patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited surgical technologist program or military program OR 5 years of Surgical Technologist Experience.
• BLS certification through American Heart Association required.
• Preferred certification in surgical technology.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct patient care duties.
• Organizes activities and supplies based on surgery schedule and daily needs of the department.
• Care for and provide services to patients with supervision of the staff nurse.
• Communicates information pertaining to patient care needs to patients, family members and co-workers.
• Maintains required clinical knowledge, technical skills, training and credentials.
• Adapts to rapid changes in the department caused by unit census, patient acuity and resource availability.
