Job Title: Materials Manager/Surgical Technician
Location: Plantation, FL
Status: Full-Time, Monday to Friday (No Weekends, No On-Call), Hours may vary
Reports To: ASC Administrator/Director of Nursing

Position Summary:
This role combines Surgical Technician and Materials Manager responsibilities.

The Surgical Technician assists in surgeries by preparing the OR, sterilizing instruments, and supporting the surgical team. The Materials Manager oversees procurement, inventory, and supplies to ensure smooth operations, cost-effectiveness, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities (Surgical Tech):

• Preoperative Preparation: Prepare OR, sterilize instruments, verify patient info.
• Intraoperative Support: Assist during surgeries, maintain sterile field, restock after procedures, transport patients, dispose of biohazards.
• Compliance and Safety: Follow infection control and safety protocols, participate in quality activities.
• Collaboration and Communication: Work with surgical team, provide process feedback.
• Inventory Management & Procurement: Manage supplies, negotiate with vendors, ensure timely delivery, maintain records, evaluate new products, oversee inventory accuracy.

Qualifications:

• Completion of accredited surgical tech program; CST preferred.
• CPR certification required.
• Experience in Orthopedic and Spine Surgeries, Total Joint Replacement preferred.
• Knowledge of surgical instruments, strong organizational skills, ability to work under pressure, excellent communication, confidentiality.

Physical Requirements:

• Stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, bending, manual dexterity, exposure to chemicals and biological materials, adherence to infection control policies.
