Title: Next-Gen Energy Technician Level 5

Department: Field Service

Reports To: Manager / Director, Service Operations

At Servist Energy, Level 5 Master Technicians represent the elite tier of technical expertise in the solar, battery storage, and EV charging industries. This role is reserved for the most experienced professionals who have mastered complex system troubleshooting, grid integration, and leadership development.

Level 5 Technicians serve as technical mentors, industry thought leaders, and advanced problem-solvers, working closely with engineers, utility providers, manufacturers, and regulatory bodies. This position prepares individuals for executive-level career paths including District Manager, Regional Manager, or Manufacturer-Trained Engineer roles.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Advanced System Performance & Technical Operations
  • Lead expert-level diagnostics, predictive maintenance strategies, and system optimization for PV, BESS, and EV infrastructure.
  • Oversee complex grid interconnection projects, ensuring seamless integration with utility standards.
  • Commission advanced DER (Distributed Energy Resources) systems, including microgrids, hybrid power solutions, and utility-scale solar and storage.
  • Develop and implement machine learning-based diagnostics and AI-driven performance analytics.
  • Supervise SCADA system configurations, automation networks, and high-level system programming.
High-Level Safety & Compliance Oversight
  1. Conduct comprehensive arc flash analysis, electrical safety audits, and LOTO compliance enforcement.
  2. Lead internal NFPA 70E safety training programs for all field personnel.
  3. Act as the primary technical liaison for OSHA, NEC, and regulatory compliance efforts.
  4. Provide oversight for breaker coordination, relay protection, and advanced power factor correction.
Mentorship & Technical Leadership
  1. Train and develop Level 1-4 Technicians, ensuring continuous upskilling in the latest industry standards.
  2. Serve as a lead instructor for NABCEP training sessions and manufacturer certification programs.
  3. Oversee recruitment, evaluation, and training for emerging field leaders and technical specialists.
  4. Establish internal R&D projects, testing new technologies and improving O&M best practices.
Strategic Field Operations & Business Integration
  1. Work with executive teams to develop long-term O&M strategies and business growth models.
  2. Collaborate with manufacturers and engineers to refine product designs, improve system efficiencies, and implement hardware/software upgrades.
  3. Act as the technical representative for industry conferences, regulatory workshops, and panel discussions.
  4. Assist in contract negotiations, ensuring technical feasibility and optimal service agreements for clients.
Required Certifications & Training
  • High School Diploma/GED (or equivalent technical education)
  • OSHA 30-Hour Safety Training (must be completed within 30 days)
  • NFPA 70E Master-Level Electrical Safety Certification
  • Completion of Level 4 Technician training requirements
  • Enrollment in the next available executive leadership or advanced engineering training program
  • First Aid & CPR Certification
  • Master Electrician License (or equivalent high-level certification)
  • NABCEP PV Installation Professional (PVIP) Certification
  • NABCEP PV Commissioning & Maintenance Specialist (PVCMS) Certification
  • Certified Energy Storage Installation Professional (ESIP)
Qualifications (Nice to Have, but Not Required)
  • EVITP (Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Training Program) Certification
  • Certified Electrical Inspector (CEI) Certification
  • Advanced Schweitzer Labs SEL relay configuration experience
  • Experience in microgrid and high-voltage utility-scale projects
  • AI-based predictive maintenance and remote diagnostics expertise
  • Regulatory advisory experience, working with utilities and government bodies
