Job summary

Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center in Houston, TX is seeking a Surgical Tech to help prepare the operating room and team for a variety of surgical procedures.

Daily tasks include setting up equipment, assisting the surgical team, and ensuring a sterile environment to support patient healing. You will collaborate with the OR team, adapt quickly, and contribute to quality patient outcomes, while meeting licensure standards and CPR requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with minimum 2 years of surgical experience.
• Certified Surgical Technologist upon hire or equivalent certification.
• CPR/BLS within 14 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgical team in scrubbing per standards and licensure.
• Maintain sterile field and report any breaks in aseptic technique.
• Pass instruments, suture products, medications, and sponges to the surgeon.
• Assist with tissue/organs retracting and suctioning as directed by the surgeon.
• Apply electrosurgical current as directed by the surgeon.
• Perform surgical counts with the RN per policy and procedure.
