Job summary

Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center is hiring a Surgical Technician II for the Surgery Department in Kodiak, AK. This full-time, day-shift role offers a $10,000 hiring bonus for eligible external hires and relocation assistance for qualified candidates.

The Surgical Technician II will support the surgeon and team, maintain sterile conditions, and ensure efficient operating room workflows. Strong OR experience or relevant training is required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a Surgical Technology Program accredited by CAAHEP or other program accredited by the Liaison Council on Certification for the Surgical Technologist or completion of a Surgical Technician Military Training program.
• National Certified Surgical Technologist - NBSTSA upon hire, or National Tech in Surgery - Certified - NCCT upon hire.
• Within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.
• Candidates with operating room experience or equivalent on-the-job training with minimum one year OR scrub experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon and surgical team by anticipating needs and maintaining a sterile environment.
• Perform decontamination of equipment, instruments and complete sterilization processes.
• Maintain a positive, professional image when interacting with patients, families, physicians, employees and the public.
