Qualifications

• Graduate from an approved CST Program required.
• Must hold MA Surgical Technician Certification (NBSTSA) and AHA CPR.
• One year CST experience preferred; able to perform CST duties across all surgical specialties.
• Demonstrates mature professional behaviors and promotes a positive working environment.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of and assists with surgical procedures as needs of surgeon and team.
• Sets up table, instruments and supplies for surgery with dexterity.
• Prepares and uses supplies and instrumentation; ensures current surgical procedure cards.
• Applies aseptic techniques to prevent infection.
• Disinfects, sterilizes and maintains sterile field.
• Opens sterile supplies aseptically and verifies sterilization integrity.
• Assists in skin prep and draping; aids in room turnover.
