Job description

Responsibilities

• Prepare the procedure room with appropriate instrumentation, equipment, and supplies.
• Demonstrate competence and understanding of sterile technique, sterilization, environmental controls, and decontamination of instruments and equipment.
• Establish and maintain an organized sterile field and ensure team members maintain the sterile environment.
• Assist the surgeon by providing visualization of the surgical wound and aid in wound closure and application of sterile dressings.
• Perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts accurately.

Qualifications

Required Education & Experience:

• Completion of a Surgical Tech program
• CST, CSFA, or LVN certification
• BLS certification

Required Knowledge:

• Principles of asepsis, case preparation, infection control, and basic computer knowledge
