Job summary

Methodist Richardson Medical Center is seeking a Surgical Technician II to work in a fast-paced, high-tech environment. You will anticipate surgeon needs, manage instruments and supplies, and assist in preparing the operating room for cases.

Required: high school diploma or GED, surgical technology program or equivalent, and at least 1 year of prior surgical tech experience; compliance with Texas HB 643 is expected. This role is on-site in Richardson, TX, within a renowned acute care hospital.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of Surgical Technologist program, military trained, or AD in Surgical Technology preferred.
• Complies with Texas House Bill #643.
• 1 year or more experience as a Surgical Technologist prior to 09/01/2009 if not a graduate of a Surgical Technology Program.

In this highly technical, fast-paced, and rewarding position, you'll collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide the very best care for patients. The Surgical Technician II understands the procedure being performed and assures that all equipment, instrumentation, and supplies are available for the case. Articulates the needs of the surgeon. Handles the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. Participates in setting up and turning over the operating room for cases.

Your Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma and/or GED equivalent
• Graduate of Surgical Technologist program, military trained, or AD in Surgical Technology preferred
• Complies with Texas House Bill #643
• 1 year or more prior experience and must have worked as a Surgical Technologist prior to 09/01/2009 (if not a graduate of a Surgical Technology Program)
