Job summary

Methodist Southwest Medical Center in the Dallas area is seeking a Surgical Technician I for a part-time role (weekends). You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure instruments, supplies, and equipment are ready for cases and assist the surgeon during procedures.

This position requires a high school diploma or GED and completion of a surgical technology program or related training, with at least one year of prior experience.

• Graduate of Surgical Technologist program or military trained.
• 1 year or more prior experience as a Surgical Technologist; must have worked before 09/01/2009 if not a program graduate.

Job Description

In this highly technical, fast-paced, and rewarding position, you'll collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide the very best care for patients. The Surgical Technician I understands the procedure being performed and assures that all equipment, instrumentation, and supplies are available for the case. Articulates the needs of the surgeon. Handles the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. Participates in setting up and turning over the operating room for cases.

Job Requirements

• High School Diploma and/or GED equivalent
• Graduate of Surgical Technologist program, military trained, or AD in Surgical Technology preferred
• Complies with Texas House Bill #643
• 1 year or more prior experience and must have worked as a Surgical Technologist prior to 09/01/2009 (if not a graduate of a Surgical Technology Program)
