Job summary

Methodist Southwest Medical Center is seeking a Surgical Technologist for part-time weekend shifts in the Dallas area. The role supports a fast-paced surgical team, ensuring instruments and supplies are ready and sterile for procedures across multiple specialties.

The candidate will need a Surgical Technology program credential or higher, a high school diploma or GED, and demonstrate compliance with relevant Texas regulations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Graduate of Surgical Technologist program; AD in Surgical Technology preferred.
• Must comply with Texas House Bill #643; 1+ year experience as Surgical Technologist prior to 09/01/2009 if not graduate.

Job Description

In this highly technical, fast-paced, and rewarding position, you'll collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide the very best care for patients. The Surgical Technician I understands the procedure being performed and assures that all equipment, instrumentation, and supplies are available for the case. Articulates the needs of the surgeon. Handles the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. Participates in setting up and turning over the operating room for cases.

Your Job Requirements

• High School Diploma and/or GED equivalent
• Graduate of Surgical Technologist program, military trained, or AD in Surgical Technology preferred
• Complies with Texas House Bill #643
• 1 year or more prior experience and must have worked as a Surgical Technologist prior to 09/01/2009 (if not a graduate of a Surgical Technology Program)
