Job summary

Canyon Vista Medical Center in Sierra Vista, AZ, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Surgical Technician (Surg Tech) for Women’s Services on a PRN basis. Join a team delivering compassionate, high‑quality obstetric and surgical care to the Sierra Vista community.

As a Surg Tech, you will prepare the sterile field, assist during procedures, pass instruments, and help ensure accurate counts and specimen handling.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; surgical technology program preferred.
• Minimum of 6 months prior experience in another facility.
• BCLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures. Prepares the surgical suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment, and supplies; ensures equipment and instruments are in good working order.
• Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning, and draping patients.
• Passes instruments to physicians during surgery and continually accounts for number and location of instruments and supplies.
• Receives and processes specimens for delivery to the laboratory.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts/units as needed.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.

How you'll contribute

A Surgical Tech (Surg Tech) who excels in this role:

What we're looking for

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; Graduate of a surgical technology program preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 6 months prior experience in another facility.
• License / Certifications: BCLS preferred.
