Job summary

Canyon Vista Medical Center in Sierra Vista AZ is hiring a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) for a full-time night shift. This 3x12 hour schedule places you with a dedicated nursing team delivering patient-centered care in a 106-bed acute care hospital.

As a CNA, you will assist with daily living activities, monitor vitals, report changes to nursing staff, and help keep patient rooms clean and stocked. Arizona CNA certification and BLS are required, with tuition and professional development

Qualifications

• Arizona CNA certification is required.
• High School diploma preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• Basic life support (BLS) certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic patient care activities as delegated by an RN or LPN, including monitoring vital signs and assisting with daily living activities.
• Assists patients with bathing, grooming, eating, and ambulation.
• Reports abnormal findings to nursing staff promptly.
• Keeps patient rooms and common areas stocked, clean, and orderly.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.

Canyon Vista Medical Center 106 bed acute care hospital that strives to offer exceptional care to the Sierra Vista community. Our 28-bed Acute Care Unit features private rooms with telemetry monitoring and advanced healthcare technology to support high-quality, around-the-clock patient care close to home. In this CNA role, you will work alongside a highly trained nursing team and a broad interdisciplinary care team dedicated to delivering safe, specialized, and patient-centered care for patients and their families.

How You'll Contribute

A CNA who excels in this role:

• Performs basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN or LPN, including monitoring vital signs, taking blood glucose measurements and recording intake and output.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, eating, and ambulation.
• Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
• Assists with keeping patient rooms and common areas stocked, clean, and orderly.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Provides quality patient care; works flexible shifts or units as needed
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

• High School diploma preferred
• Certified Nursing Assistant in the state of Arizona required
• BLS certification requiredHandle with Care certification preferred
• Comfortable with frequent standing, walking, lifting/moving patients, and repetitive hard/arm movements.
• Comfortable with regular exposure to biological and chemical hazards, including blood and bodily fluids, hazardous medications, and latex.
