Base pay range

$24.00/hr - $26.00/hr

Free-standing multispecialty surgery center is seeking to hire a part-time or casual surgical technician.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the presence of all instruments, equipment, and supplies necessary for surgical procedures; inspects all instrument trays after placed onto sterile field.
• Set up a sterile field as necessary for specific surgical procedures.
• Assists surgeon with gowning, draping, and gloving.
• Maintains accurate counts of sponges, needles and instruments.
• Assists with transport and positioning of patients.
• Responsible for the car and identification of surgical specimens until delivery to a professional nurse.
• Cleans surgical area and helps clean OR room following procedures.
• Performs duties in the instrument processing area. Stores instruments and supplies. Monitors dated packs and supplies.
• Assists with running initial daily sterilizer tests and records results.
• Helps to maintain current physician preference list.
• Ensures all supply levels are maintained.
• Performs other related work as required.

Qualifications

4 years experience with a strong background in ophthalmology, podiatry, orthopedics, GI, and plastics

Ophthalmology experience required

BLS Certification
