Role Summary/Purpose

The Field Services Technician roles will complete field and workshop based work as required. The roles provide on-site technical direction, hands-on service, and leadership during installation, startup, commissioning, and maintenance of customer-owned utility and industrial facilities.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Provide on-site technical direction, hands-on service, and leadership during installation, startup, commissioning, and maintenance of utility and industrial facilities.
  • Prepare job planning documents, including engineering instructions, drawings, and process instructions, defining the scope of outages.
  • Communicate effectively with management and colleagues, utilizing customers' CTQ (Critical to Quality) needs in planning and execution.
  • Lead skilled labor performing work on customer sites.
  • Troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance checks on equipment such as power transformers, switchgear, relays, control systems, turbines, motors, and generators.
  • Troubleshoot electromechanical operations and maintenance issues in the Power Delivery field.
  • Perform administrative tasks like writing technical reports, ordering materials, securing quotations, and preparing job status, customer reports, timesheets, and expense sheets thoroughly and timely.
  • Exercise good judgment in controlling costs and expenditures.
  • Maintain a strong safety mindset to ensure work reflects technical requirements within TGE safety standards.
Qualifications/Requirements

Appropriate qualification as an Electrical Fitter with HV experience, or Electrical Technician/Technologist/Electrician with HV experience.

  • Familiarity with test equipment and procedures.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent English speaking, reading, and writing skills.

  • Proven experience leading field service teams.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel and flexibility.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, Project, and Access.
  • Basic Workplace First Aid certification.

The pay range is $35.64 – 43.72, influenced by experience, education, and skills. The position is eligible for Per Diem. The posting closes on June 30, 2025.
