Job summary

City of Hope is seeking a PRN Surgical Technician to join the operating room team in Goodyear, AZ. The role involves daytime shifts with variable start times and call requirements for nights, weekends, and holidays.

You will work under the supervision of a surgeon and circulating RN to support a safe, efficient surgical environment. Qualified candidates will have a surgical technologist program, BLS certification, and a strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, instruments, and supply

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalency.
• Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technologist Training program.
• Certification: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certified.
• Special Skills: Anatomy, physiology, instruments, suture material, power and specialty equipment knowledge; medication and supply terminology.

• Assist the surgeon and circulating RN to facilitate safe surgical procedures.
• Maintain sterile field and ensure equipment safety and readiness.
• Support patient safety and accurate instrument handling during operations.

The successful candidate:

This is a PRN role- daytime shift (6:30AM usual start time but can vary). 12-16 hrs per week w/ Call expectation for nights, weekends & holidays. Example shift(s): 1 12-hour shift OR 2 8-hour shifts/week.

Surgical Technologists are an integral part of the team of medical practitioners providing surgical care to patients. Sr. Surgical technologists work under the supervision of a surgeon and circulating RN to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures, ensuring that the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety. Sr. Surgical technologists are individuals with specialized education who function as members of the surgical team in the role of scrub person.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalency
• Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technologist Training program
• Certification: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certified
