Corewell Health in Royal Oak, MI is seeking a Surgical Technologist Senior for the Royal Oak Hospital's Suite 100. The role involves maintaining the surgical suite, intraoperative handling of instruments, and ensuring sterile technique for ophthalmology, podiatry, and other procedures.

Surgery Suite 100 is a fast paced, changing OR environment, consisting of 9 ORs. Service lines include ophthalmology, podiatry, sports medicine, hands, breasts, microvascular plastic reconstruction, reconstructive plastics, general surgery procedures, and robotic surgery. We provide care for both pediatric and adult patient populations. Suite 100 utilizes a teamwork approach, comprised of RNs, Surgical Technologists, and Surgery Support Staff to provide compassionate care for patients while supporting surgeons and anesthesia providers throughout the surgical procedure. Patient safety is primary focus, along with providing patient -family centered care. On call is required.

The Surgical Technologist Senior will be responsible for maintaining and preparing the surgical suite, intraoperative handling of instruments, maintenance of the sterile field, and evaluation of changing conditions during the surgical procedures, and making appropriate responses as needed. Responsible for maintaining knowledge of surgical procedures and protocols. Acts as a preceptor and engages with management and education team on surgical technology curriculum.
