Job summary

Corewell Health’s Royal Oak Hospital is hiring a Surgical Technologist II to maintain and prepare the surgical suite, handle instruments intraoperatively, and maintain sterile fields. The role may include precepting and adapting to changing procedure conditions.

The hospital offers a sign-on bonus up to $5,000, a comprehensive benefits package, on-demand pay, and retirement options. Full-time, variable shifts, 40 hours weekly, in Royal Oak, MI.

Qualifications

• : High school diploma required.
• : Associate degree or equivalent required.
• : Completion of an accredited School of Surgical Technology or equivalent training program (military, etc.) required.
• : Minimum of 1 year of Surgical Technologist experience (Clinical rotations count as experience) preferred.
• : BLS within 90 days of hire required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and prepare the surgical suite and sterile field.
• Intraoperative handling of instruments and maintenance of sterile technique.
• Evaluate changing conditions during procedures and respond appropriately; may serve as a preceptor.

Scope of work The Surgical Technologist II will be responsible for maintaining and preparing the surgical suite, intraoperative handling of instruments, maintenance of the sterile field, and evaluation of changing conditions during the surgical procedures, and making appropriate responses as needed. Responsible for maintaining knowledge of surgical procedures and protocols. May serve as a preceptor as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma Required
• Associate degree or equivalent Required
• Completion of an accredited School of Surgical Technology or equivalent training program (military, etc.) Not all schools require an associate degree Or 1 year of equivalent experience Required
• Minimum of 1 year of Surgical Technologist experience (Clinical rotations do count as experience) Preferred
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire Required
