Job summary

SSM Health is seeking a Surgical Tech (PRN) for the OK-SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital Midwest operating room. You will assist in patient care activities, set up the OR, gather instruments and supplies, and communicate with the RN about patient status.

Responsibilities include preparing equipment, maintaining aseptic technique, and supporting the team during procedures. PRN schedule, rotational shifts, eligibility requires completion of an accredited surgical tech program.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited surgical tech program.
• Graduate of a technical program for operating room technicians.
• No experience required.
• Current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers (BLS HCP) recommended.
• CST or NCCT or NRST credentials accepted.

Responsibilities

• Practices and implements technical components of patient care under RN supervision.
• Collaborates with RN and other healthcare professionals to implement a care plan.
• Prepares equipment and supplies based on an individualized care plan.
• Communicates accurately with the RN regarding patients.
• Operates surgical instruments and equipment using aseptic technique.
• Follows lab policies for specimen handling and labeling.
• Documents quality controls according to unit standards.
• Demonstrates problem solving and teamwork; acts as a resource to others.
