Job summary

Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center in Houston, TX is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to prepare the operating room and support the surgical team across a broad range of procedures.

You will set up instruments, maintain a sterile field, assist the team, and help ensure patient safety and efficient care. Ideal candidates have a formal surgical technology program, CST certification, and at least 3 years of acute-care OR experience; CPR within 14 days is required.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or GED upon hire.
  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
  • Associates degree in Surgical Technology or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of recent OR experience in acute care.
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) upon hire.
  • Technologist in Surgery-Certified upon hire.
  • Basic Life Support (CPR) within 14 days.

Responsibilities

  • Set up operating room and instruments for procedures.
  • Assist surgical team and maintain sterile environment.
  • Adapt quickly and collaborate within the OR team.
  • Support patient healing and safety during procedures.
  • Coordinate equipment and in-service activities.
  • Ensure quality of care while managing supplies.
