Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist at CHI St. Alexius Health Dickinson to support the operating room team in preparing procedures, maintaining sterility, and assisting surgeons.

You will work closely with OR staff to ensure instruments and supplies are ready and ready to facilitate successful patient outcomes. Ideal candidates have completed an approved Surgical Technologist program, are certified upon hire, and hold CPR/CPR-related credentials.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a Surgical Technologist program or an equivalent training program reviewed by department leadership.
• Certified Surgical Technologist, upon hire.
• Unlicensed Assistive Person: ND, upon hire.
• Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the procedure room with appropriate instrumentation, equipment and supplies.
• Demonstrate competence and understanding of sterile technique, sterilization, environmental controls and decontamination of instrument and equipment.
• Establish and maintain an organized sterile field and assure team members maintain the sterile environment.
• Assist the surgeon by providing visualization of the surgical wound and assist with wound closure and sterile dressings.
• Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy and physiology as it relates to surgical procedures.
• Apply basic knowledge of instrumentation for each surgical service with advancement in years of service.
