Job summary

CHI St. Alexius Health Dickinson in Dickinson, ND is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist in preparing the operating room and supporting the surgical team across a variety of procedures.

You will set up instrumentation, maintain a sterile environment, and contribute to patient healing through teamwork and attentive care. Requirements include completing a Surgical Technologist program, being certified, ND license status for UAP, and CPR certification.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare the procedure room with instrumentation, equipment and supplies.
• Maintain sterile technique and environmental controls; decontaminate instruments.
• Establish and maintain an organized sterile field for the team.
• Assist the surgeon by visualizing the wound and aiding closure and dressings.
• Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy and physiology as it relates to surgery.
• Apply instrumentation knowledge with increasing experience.

Job Summary And Responsibilities

As our Surgical Tech, you will help prepare the operating room and surgical team so they can successfully perform a variety of surgical procedures for patients. Every day you will set up surgical equipment and instruments, assist the surgical team, and ensure a sterile environment. You will be expected to adapt quickly, collaborate effectively within the OR team, and contribute directly to the patient's healing process. To be successful in this role, you must possess adaptability, a strong team‑player mindset, and enthusiasm for supporting complex surgical procedures.

• Prepare the procedure room with appropriate instrumentation, equipment and supplies.
• Demonstrate competence and understanding of sterile technique, sterilization, environmental controls and decontamination of instrument and equipment.
• Establish and maintain an organized sterile field and assure team members maintain the sterile environment.
• Assists the surgeon by providing visualization of the surgical wound and assists with wound closure and application of sterile dressings.
• Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy and physiology as it relates to surgical procedures.
• Apply basic knowledge of instrumentation for each surgical service with advancement in years of service.

• Successful completion of a Surgical Technologist program or an equivalent training program that has been reviewed and approved by the department director and VP of Patient Care Services, upon hire
• Certified Surgical Technologist, upon hire
• Unlicensed Assistive Person: ND, upon hire
• Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire

Pay Range

$25.55 - $38.00 /hour
