Job summary

Collaborating with Circulating RN, surgeons, anesthesia providers, and perioperative staff, the incumbent will promote patient safety, aseptic practice, and efficient room turnover.

Qualifications

• Certificate or associate degree in surgical technology or on-the-job training with supervisor approval.
• BLS certification required; Surgical Technologist certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room for scheduled procedures and establish the sterile field.
• Anticipate surgeon and team needs and pass instruments and supplies during procedures.
• Assist with specimen handling, counts, and documentation as assigned.
• Maintain sterile field integrity and follow infection-control protocols.
• Assist with turnover, cleaning, and preparation for subsequent cases.
• Protect patient rights and confidentiality.
